Make sure you increase the fiber in your diet dramatically. Get yourself some fiber caplets or powder like Citrucel and drink that down before each meal. Fiber makes your stomach feel fuller and more satisfied for longer. Also drink enough each day because liquids also keep you fuller. Just avoid the very sugary drinks as often as you can. Well, since your 16, I’d suggest for a start, join a sport. Track would be the best. If you eat junk food, fastfood and flat out unhealthy food, cut it all out, but you can limit yourself to it once in a while. Drink lots and lots and lots and lots of water. Milk and orange juice are excellent for the morning time, but throughout the day, have lots of water. You could also buy workout tapes, my sister says Denise Austin is one of the best. Losing weight by doing this may take time, but it’s at a healthy pace. If you want to lose it quicker, try out weight watchers. As long as you have yourself motivated, that 20 lbs will come off.

Well, I lost 20 lbs in about 2 months by going on a 1200 calorie low stout (30 – 40 grams per day) high fiber (25 – 30 grams per day) diet. I cut my bread intake dramatically, because that is my largest downfall, and used only light bread. Eliminated butter, margarine, all sweets and snacks other than 94 per stout free popcorn and no stout pretzles (in small amounts occasionally). To take the place of my usual sweets, I ate fresh fruits with a very small amount of walnuts or almonds (like 10) with no salt. To get my fiber I ate Fiber One cereal with stout free milk. I highly recommend the Fiber One. It has more fiber than any of the other cereals on the market and it does keep you full, even when you have only a half serving for a snack or breakfast. The kind with honey clusters also helps when you have a sweet tooth. I drank mostly water and decaf herbal teas with nothing added. I also had a lot of all veggie meals and salads with light or no stout dressings, and had mostly lean meats like chicken breast & turkey breast. I did eat eggs (hard boiled or cooked in butter flavored Pam but used mostly whites and ate only part of the yolk. For exercise all I did was walk one mile a day briskly (and I worked up to two miles eventually). I reckon I could’ve lost quicker if I had done more exercise but I am not very athletic. Blessings on your efforts. Doing something/anything to lose weight is better than just thinking about it and doing nothing. Congrats on taking this positive giant step in the right direction.
